How do you really know if your team is making the most of AI at work?
Maybe you have rolled out Microsoft Copilot. You have talked about how it can save time, boost productivity, and make daily tasks easier.
But how can you tell if your team is actually using it? Or if it is just sitting there, unused?
That is exactly what Microsoft’s new Copilot Dashboard feature, called Benchmarks, is designed to show.
Benchmarks lives inside Viva Insights (part of Microsoft 365) and gives you a clear look at how your employees are using Copilot. It also lets you compare your company’s usage with others.
You can see how many people in your organization are actively using Copilot, which apps they use it in, and how often they come back to it.
It goes further, too.
Benchmarks can also compare your company’s usage to similar businesses, those of the same size, in the same industry, or in your region.
This means you can see whether your team is leading the way with AI, or if there is more room to grow.
You might wonder about privacy. The idea of having your company data compared with others might make you pause. Microsoft says it is handled with care. All external data is anonymized, aggregated, and run through models to protect privacy.
From a business perspective, this is a smart move.
Many companies are slow to fully adopt AI tools, even when the benefits are clear. Recent studies show that only about five percent of AI pilot programs move beyond the testing stage, mostly because businesses struggle to adjust their processes and culture.
Microsoft’s Benchmarks tool could help by showing you exactly where adoption is slowing down.
Of course, this new visibility might make some employees nervous. Nobody wants to feel like their every move is being watched. But this is about progress, not punishment. If you can see which teams are using Copilot effectively and which are not, you will know where extra support or training could make a difference.
So, is your team using AI well? With Copilot’s new dashboard, you will not have to guess. The answer will be right in front of you.
