More good news for accessibility in Windows 11

Have you ever opened a document or presentation and realized half the information is locked away in an image or graphic you cannot quite understand?

Maybe it is a complicated chart or a photo with important details, but there is no description to help you out.

Microsoft is working on a feature that could make moments like that a thing of the past, especially for people with accessibility needs.

They are testing a new tool in Windows 11 called Describe Image, powered by local AI built right into your PC.

On Copilot+ PCs, the new generation of Windows devices that use AI directly on your computer, you will find Describe Image in the Click to Do menu. When you select it, your PC instantly generates a detailed description of any image, chart, or graph on your screen.

The first time you use it, your computer sets up the AI models it needs. From then on, everything runs locally, so your images and data stay private and secure on your own device.

Right now, this feature is rolling out to Windows Insiders on the Dev Channel who have Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. Microsoft has also said that AMD and Intel Copilot+ PCs will get it soon.

At first, this might not seem like a game changer. But imagine a team member with a visual impairment being able to understand a complex graph in seconds, without waiting for help.

Or think about a busy employee skimming a report and getting instant descriptions of images, without opening another app or tracking down the right person for answers.

Microsoft is focusing on making technology work for everyone, removing barriers and helping people get more done.

Accessibility features like this are not just about meeting requirements. They can make a real difference in day-to-day work.

When employees can access information easily, they do their jobs better, collaborate more smoothly, and feel included. That is good for everyone, including your business.

Windows 11 continues to add thoughtful improvements like this. Describe Image is another step toward technology that adapts to people, not the other way around.

If you are looking at Copilot+ PCs, this is another reason to be excited about what is coming next. And if you need help choosing the right devices for your business, our team is here to help. Reach out any time.
